Description of proposal

Buildings and works for Intersection upgrade at Ballarto Road and Lyrebird Avenue Frankston North, including vegetation removal. The project is generally located at the intersection of Ballarto Road and Lyrebird Road, including their respective road reserves, in Frankston North. The project also comprises small sections of land within the Keith Turnbull Research Institute which is identified as unleased Crown land managed by DELWP and DJPR. The project is part of a Commonwealth and State Government funded initiative to upgrade key intersections along Ballarto Road, to reduce congestion and enhance existing road infrastructure in Melbourne's southeast. The project works include new traffic signals, road widening, and shared use path connection to the existing Peninsula Link Trail. As part of the project, DoT proposes to remove 0.847 hectares of native vegetation and 11 large trees (proposal) within the study area to facilitate the construction of the project.
