Residential greenfield land is former rural land on the fringe of cities and towns that is being developed for housing, typically detached houses.
The Urban Development Program (UDP) identifies land as it is transformed from paddocks (englobo land) to lots for homes (titled lots). Land identified as non-residential by Precinct Structure Plans, Growth Plans, overlays or through consultation with council has been excluded from future residential supply.
