Description of proposal
The proposal involves the replacement and re‑centering of the existing front door to the dwelling. The existing door will be removed and replaced with a new arched timber front door, painted the same colour as existing door (white), and re‑centred within the existing front façade to improve alignment and presentation. To accommodate the re‑centred opening, minor localised replacement of weatherboards will be undertaken immediately adjacent to the doorway only. Replacement weatherboards will match the existing profile, material and finish. No broader cladding works are proposed. The works are minor and confined to the front entry. The proposal does not involve structural works, does not alter any load‑bearing elements, and will not affect the structural integrity of the dwelling. There is no change to the building’s overall form, height, roof, verandah, or streetscape presentation. The arched door form and re‑centered entry are sympathetic to the Inter‑War character of the dwelling and the Mount Eagle Estate heritage precinct, and the works are considered to have no adverse impact on heritage significance.
