Bass Coast Distinctive Area and Landscape

The Bass Coast contains distinctive rural and coastal landscapes, productive agricultural land, and sensitive environments of significant biodiversity value. The area attracts lifestyle residents, as well as holiday makers and includes the popular tourist destination of Phillip Island.

The government has declared the Bass Coast a ‘distinctive area and landscape’ to protect the environment, landscape and lifestyle.  A Statement of Planning Policy will now be developed for the area.

We will continue to consult with Traditional Owners, Bass Coast Shire Council, and the community throughout this process. For more information and to subscribe for updates, please visit Bass Coast Distinctive Area and Landscape | Engage Vic.
