Description of proposal
The proposed bridge pier blading works to bridge SN7823 trigger a permit for buildings and works under the PPRZ and LSIO for both the Melbourne and Maribyrnong Planning Scheme as the proposed roadworks alter the flow of water. The proposed works are associated with the West Gate Tunnel Project and are part of the flood mitigation response required in accordance with the Project's Environmental Performance Requirements, which are to ensure that any temporary or permanent works within the Maribyrnong River have no impact on the flood risk or flood storage capacity. The bridge pier blading works are one of several engineered solutions that have been developed in consultation with the relevant flood plain manager.
