Description of proposal
Telstra proposes to upgrade the existing telecommunications facility on the roof of a building adjacent to the parade ring at Flemington Racecourse. The scope of works involves the replacement of the existing tower with a new 15m tower and new Telstra headframe to accommodate antennas. An equipment cabinet and ancillary equipment such as cabling, filters, RRUs and RRUs interface junction boxes will be replaced with new equipment of this kind. The upgrade is necessary to improve and increase mobile capacity to the Flemington Racecourse area, particularly during Spring Carnival season.
