What is this tool for?

The RFI service flow has been designed as a visual representation of the front and back of house actions undertaken by applicants and planners as part of the RFI process. Primary target users are the planning and admin teams at Council.

Instructions for use

The tool can be customised to meet your council’s RFI process requirements.

Updating text on the service flow tool

The service flow outlines a standard RFI process and can be edited to reflect your council's processes and timeframes.

You should also add your letterhead or logo/standard headers and footers to identify your council

Where should the service flow be available

This tool is an internal facing document intended to inform and guide planning and admin staff. The service flow should be saved within council’s internal systems, in an easily accessible location for staff.

Tips to get the most out of this tool

For this tool to be most effective at your council, we recommend:

  • Customise the tool to reflect accurate processes and timeframes
  • ensure the service flow is understood by planning and admin staff
  • store a copy of the tool where it can be easily located by council staff.

Having a clear RFI service flow will help to guide staff with the process, principles and expectations they need to adhere to within the RFI process.
