The stretch of the Yarra River through Lower Templestowe, Heidelberg and Bulleen is of special importance to Melburnians and its Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Traditional Owners.
The Yarra River – Bulleen Precinct contains significant cultural places, including Heide Museum of Modern Art and the Bolin Bolin billabong, situated within broader remnant network of billabongs and riparian woodlands. The precinct features centuries old River Red Gums, once a common feature of the river throughout the city.
We are preparing a long-term strategic plan for the precinct, centred on the relationship between the arts, nature and Traditional Owner heritage.
