Background
Dandy Premix Quarries Pty Ltd (Regional Group Australia), trading as Yarra Valley Quarry, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mass Group Holdings, proposes to extend their existing quarry operated under Work Authority 375, located at 130 McMahons Road, Launching Place, Victoria. The proposal will expand the existing quarry extension area from 23.3 hectare quarry pit to 48.06 hectares enabling the extraction depth to be increased from 155 metres to 285 metres. The proposed quarry expansion would deliver 50 million tonne of hard rock (Hornfels) aggregates, and crushed rock construction materials to Greater Melbourne and Yarra Valley construction industry projects over an anticipated >80-year life-cycle.
