The vision for Yarraman
The following vision for the Yarraman train and tram zone activity centre is built from the Statement of Advice prepared by a Community Reference Group (CRG) made up of local community members.
Yarraman will remain compact and walkable, focussed on supporting the local community.
Tree-lined streets, nearby creek corridors, and strong walking and cycling connections link it to the rest of the municipality.
New housing and development will be sensitively integrated to respect the centre’s scale and suburban setting.
What we understand about the place and how we’ve addressed it
The approach for Yarraman Station differs, as it does not include an activity centre core.
Due to the limited access to shops and other services around Yarraman Station, we are proposing only an outer catchment in this area.

Yarraman catchment explained
The catchment is the surrounding area within approximately 10 minutes’ walk of the core (around 800 metres).
In Yarraman, only the outer catchment has been applied. The catchment extent is less than in other centres, to reflect the limited access to shops and services.
