Description of proposal
AusNet Services (AusNet) is proposing to install a minor utility installation comprising an underground electricity cable (22KV (22,000 volts) and associated substations between Mount Hotham to Dinner Plain (project). AusNet is looking to increase supply reliability in the Alpine area between Mount Hotham and Dinner Plain by creating the duplicated underground electricity cable. Currently there is only a radical feed from Mount Hotham to Dinner Plain and when faults are experienced in the area outages are prolonged due to the current feed. This Planning Application specifically covers the sections of work from ARC Workshop to Whitey’s Carpark, adjacent to the Great Alpine Road and works on the north and south side of the road near Whiskey Flat Car Park.
