The Residential Zones State of Play reports provide a an overview of demographics and housing for Metropolitan Melbourne and the four regional cities of Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, and Latrobe. The reports were prepared by the Managing Residential Development Taskforce in accordance with Clause 11 of the Terms of Reference (PDF, 109.6 KB).
Maps for each subregion and municipality are provided at the bottom of this page.
The taskforce also compiled a list of suggested improvements to the residential zones.
These documents (available below) were produced to assist the community, councils, the development industry and ultimately the Advisory Committee to review the implementation of the new residential zones.
List of Suggested Improvements to the Residential Zones
The content of the List of Suggested Improvements to the Residential Zones (PDF, 120.3 KB) was compiled by the taskforce from a range of stakeholders with differing views on the application of zones allowing for residential development. The suggested improvements are unedited and are provided for comment only. Neither the advisory committee or the taskforce have formed an opinion on the validity or rationale for the suggestions.
