The Minister for Planning is considering whether to prepare, adopt and approve Moyne planning scheme amendment C79 under section 20(4) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.

The draft amendment proposes to apply a Special Control Overlay and an Incorporated Document: 8 Hamilton Street, Peterborough May 2023, to allow for the use and development of the land for accommodation (staged), subdivision of the land into 25 lots (staged), development of a food and drink premises, and create access to a road in a Transport Zone 2.

If the Minister decides to prepare, adopt, and approve draft amendment C79moyn this would facilitate the proposed redevelopment, subject to the provisions of the Incorporated Document.

The proposal seeks approval for:

  • use of the land for accommodation
  • construction of 25 accommodation units
  • staged subdivision of the land
  • buildings and works associated with a food and drink premise
  • alteration to vehicle access to a road in a Transport Zone 2.

The Minister received the request from Myers Planning and Associates to facilitate the proposal through the Development Facilitation Program.

Before making a decision about whether to proceed with the draft amendment, the Minister is consulting with the community to understand the views of affected parties.

Following the consultation period, the Minister may refer this matter to the Priority Projects Standing Advisory Committee for advice before making a decision about whether to prepare, adopt and approve the amendment.
