Arrangements for current and future panel hearings
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Planning Panels Victoria (PPV) is exploring a number of options to progress current and new matters or postpone them if necessary. Primarily, we are seeking to avoid face to face contact and gatherings of people in accordance with government instructions. This will require the cooperation of all involved in the PPV process.
We are consulting with all submitters and parties in relation to alternative arrangements for current matters, and any arrangements that are put in place will be cognisant of the need to accord procedural fairness.
New face to face hearings will not be scheduled until such time as the ‘all-clear’ is provided by health authorities and government. Directions hearing for all new matters will be undertaken on the papers or via video conferencing as advised by the panel. Options for hearing new matters will likewise be explored such as on the papers or using technology such as teleconferencing or video conferencing.
Each Panel will contact submitters and parties to discuss the possibilities for each new matter. In some cases due to complexity or the number of parties postponement may be necessary.

Hearings proceeding by video conference
Matters will be heard in an open forum, consistent with obligations to conduct hearings in public.
PPV will contact parties directly regarding arrangements for specific hearings.
If you are not a party to a hearing but wish to view proceedings, please check the relevant council website for the latest timetable information and details on how to access a live stream.
