Our role

An Advisory Committee has been appointed to provide advice on Amendment C143 to the Yarra Ranges Planning Scheme. The amendment proposes a new schedule to Clause 32.03 - Low Density Residential Zone to allow a minimum subdivision area of 0.2 hectares.

The Advisory Committee will advise the Minister for Planning, in accordance with the Terms of Reference, as to whether the amendment should be approved as proposed by the Yarra Ranges Shire Council, taking into account any submissions received.

Terms of Reference

The Terms of Reference (PDF, 1.2 MB) for the Advisory Committee have been reviewed to reflect a revised notification and timing process.

Exhibition of the draft Amendment C143 documentation

The following draft Amendment documentation was on public exhibition between 30 August and 28 September 2016:

The Shire of Yarra Ranges web site contains an interactive geographic information system (GIS) that allows people to see how the proposal will affect their property

Making a submission

The department wrote to the affected parties inviting them to provide a submission by Wednesday 28 September 2016.

Directions Hearing

The Directions Hearing was held on Wednesday 26 October 2016.

Public Hearings

The hearings were held on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 November 2016.

Report

The Advisory Committee submitted its report on 14 February 2017.
