Overview

Background

On 22 November 2020, the Minister for Planning called in the application to amend the planning permit for the Grantville Quarry (120388-1) from Bass Coast Shire Council under section 97B(1)(a) of the Planning and Environment 1987.

In accordance with section 97E(1)(a) and 97E(1)(b) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, the Minister referred all objections made in response to the permit application to an independent panel.

Directions Hearing

A Directions Hearing was held via video conferencing on Monday 21 December 2020.

Public Hearing

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Hearing was conducted through video conference.

A Public Hearing was held via videoconference and ran over three weeks commencing on 22 March 2021 and finishing on 8 April 2021.

Report

The Panel submitted its report to the Minister for Planning on 12 June 2021.

Outcome

On 19 April 2022, following consideration of the Panel Report, the Minister for Planning issued an amended planning permit relating to the Dandy Premix Quarry in Grantville, subject to conditions.
