Have your say on Planning for Golf in Victoria
Golf is one of Victoria’s most popular organised recreational activities.
However, the sport is currently facing challenges such as changing participation trends, declining club memberships, increasing operational costs, and interest in using golf course land for other purposes.
The Victorian Government is committed to supporting the future of golf. Action 67 of the Plan Melbourne Implementation Plan is to work with the golf industry and local governments to develop a state-wide golf facilities plan that will meet the future needs of the sport. The Planning for Golf in Victoria discussion paper is the first step towards developing this state-wide plan.
The discussion paper contains a range of ideas to support golf into the future based on five key challenges – participation, membership, supply and demand, land use, and governance.
We’re seeking feedback on the discussion paper until 14 August 2017. Whether you’re a golf club member, casual golfer, or have an interest as a community member, your feedback can help shape the way we plan for golf in Victoria.
