The updated webpages respond to user requests to strengthen and broaden the range of bushfire information.
The webpages are a useful resource on everything relating to planning for bushfire in Victoria, including why we have rules, strategic planning and bushfire hazard. There are detailed and easy-to-follow fact sheets and guidelines on topics such as building in the BMO, BPA and BMO mapping, settlement planning and vegetation clearing for bushfire protection.
The new pages include information on the recent updates to the vegetation clearing rules. These updates mean the 10/30 vegetation clearing rules now only apply to designated bushfire prone areas. For more information see Amendment VC176 and Clause 52.12 Bushfire Protection Exemptions.
