Would you like to have a role in overseeing the strategic management of the Yarra River?
We are committed to protecting the Yarra’s cultural, environmental and community values for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations. Following the historical passing of legislation that recognises Traditional Owners, the Birrarung Council is being established to advise on the strategic management of the Yarra River and its environs.
The Minister for Planning, the Hon Richard Wynne MP, is inviting expressions of interest for appointment to the inaugural Birrarung Council.
If you have skills and experience in one or more of the following disciplines, or you represent a special interest or industry group that is focussed on the Yarra River, consider joining the Birrarung Council:
- environmental groups
- agriculture industry groups
- Yarra River land local community groups
- environmental science (eg: waterway health, aquatic ecology)
- urban planning, management or design (eg: landscape architecture, statutory and environment planning, or urban parks and recreation)
- corporate governance
Submit your expression of interest at Get OnBoard
Expressions of Interest close Monday 5 February 2018.
