VicRoads proposes to bypass the township of Beaufort with a new section of the Western Highway.

This section would link with completed sections of the Western Highway duplication to the east and west of Beaufort.

The project includes the selection of road alignment(s) and the associated identification of land to be reserved to enable the future construction of the bypass. This will also include interchanges to connect with the Beaufort township, several waterway crossings, an overpass of the Melbourne-Ararat rail line and intersection treatment of local roads.
