The amendment proposes to include the Bonegilla Hall site within the Township Zone and Heritage Overlay of the Wodonga Planning Scheme. Currently the site is incorrectly included in the planning scheme in an area of Commonwealth Land despite existing as a freehold title in favour of the Bonegilla Hall Committee. The amendment will correct the anomaly by including the land within the Township Zone. The main purpose of this amendment is to recognise the local heritage significance of the Bonegilla Hall ensuring appropriate planning controls are in place to protect the heritage value of the building and its immediate surrounds.
