Please Note: Proposal description below describes the amendment. To verify content of the final approved amendment see the Explanatory Report.
The amendment applies to the designated area of the Port of Portland other than the land containing the building known as the Strarch Shed. The amendment incorporates the document Portland Woodchip Storage and Handling Facilities Master Plan 2008 into the Glenelg Planning Scheme and includes the Land in the schedule to clause 52.03 of the Planning Scheme. This will remove ambiguity as to whether there is a need for a planning permit under the Special Use Zone (Schedule 4) or clause 52.06 (Car Parking) of the Planning Scheme, by allowing use and development for woodchip storage and handling facilities without a planning permit, provided that the use and development is in accordance with the Portland Woodchip Storage and Handling Facilities Master Plan 2008 and the associated Environment Management Plan.
